YOUNG ADULT LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

The i[2]y Young Adult Leadership Council(YALC) is an all-volunteer brigade of authority-questioning, diffident-yet-committed, sardonic-yet-cromulent, and sarcastic though possibly Canadian (no offense Canadians) young adults affected by cancer who:

1. Get it. (Not cancer. Us. That is, unless you got cancer, too.)
2. Think that what we're up to is pretty frieken cool.
3. Are fans of the idea that being irreverent and disruptive to cancer is hip.
4. Love our spamtastic kitsch factor (Cancer? I Don't Even Know Her!)
5. Want to help out but maybe can't make a financial donation. (Or maybe can but don't want to because the electric bill is somehow more important.)
6. Like the idea of supporting a different kind of young adult cancer advocacy group. (We're progressive and the only ones out there doing what we're doing.)
7. Are tired of running, walking, racing, relaying, striding, sauntering, golfing, dancing, knitting and anything else "for the cure". (What does it mean, anyway?)
8. Might be fed up with the old school cancer establishment, don't necessarily want to get involved with a giant cancer franchise and realize that by contributing to i[2]y, their voice will be heard and they will actually see results.
9. Other some such stuff and the like, more or less.

YALC member goals and responsibilities will be self-determined on an individualized basis taking in to account the level of involvement candidates are most comfortable with. That said, we have some basic ground rules, guidelines and standards along with a minimum level of commitment in order to enlist. (You didn't think it was that easy, huh?)

We have some phenomenal, cutting-edge and groundbreaking projects ahead of us for 2008 and need all of the cheerleaders, advocates and brand ambassadors we can get.
